Nighthawk Tow Bar Recall
Affected serial numbers: 15000 - 20843 | T-Bolt Assembly Inspection Required
This is an important safety recall notice. Please read this page in its entirety. You may be a registered owner of a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar with a serial number between 15000 and 20843.
Roadmaster has identified that Nighthawk tow bars within this serial number range may allow the T-bolt assembly (see Figure 1) to loosen over time. To correct this, Roadmaster will provide replacement parts, if required, at no cost to you.
Important
Do not use the tow bar until it has been inspected in accordance with the instructions provided in this notice. If your tow bar is found to require the updated stinger assembly (see Figure 1), do not use the tow bar until the replacement parts have been installed.
Reason for This Notice
The Nighthawk tow bar stinger — the portion of the tow bar that inserts into the hitch receiver — contains several components, including the T-bolt assembly (see Figure 1). The T-bolt assembly consists of a large bolt and nut secured by a roll pin.
If the roll pin is missing, damaged, or partially backed out of its hole, vibration and repeated loading may allow the T-bolt assembly to gradually loosen. In extreme cases, this could result in separation of the tow bar from the hitch receiver, potentially causing the towed vehicle to separate from the motorhome and increasing the risk of property damage, serious injury, or death.

Verify the Serial Number
Locate the serial number on your tow bar (see Figure 1). If the serial number is between 15000 and 20843, proceed to Step 2.

Locate the Stinger and T-Bolt Assembly
Unfold your tow bar and locate the stinger and T-bolt assembly as shown in Figure 2.

Inspect the T-Bolt Assembly
Examine the T-bolt assembly and determine whether it contains one roll-pin hole or two.
- If the T-bolt assembly has only one roll-pin hole (see Figure 3), your tow bar requires an updated replacement stinger. Do not use the tow bar until the replacement stinger has been installed.
- If the T-bolt assembly has two roll-pin holes (see Figure 4), your tow bar already contains the updated design and is not affected by this recall.

What Roadmaster Will Do
To address this condition, Roadmaster will provide the necessary replacement hardware at no charge to owners of affected tow bars. If your tow bar requires an updated stinger assembly, Roadmaster will ship the replacement components directly to you along with installation instructions. To receive the appropriate replacement parts, please contact Roadmaster using the information provided below.
