Product Description
For Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring Systems on Triple Axle Trailers
The 25475 Leaf Spring Spacer Kit is designed for trailers equipped with Roadmaster’s Comfort Ride Slipper Spring System, specifically on triple‑axle configurations that use 2‑1/4" spring hangers. When shorter-than-standard hangers are present, the axles do not sit at the correct relative height—resulting in uneven load distribution, poor tracking, and accelerated tire wear. This kit aligns all three axles at the same ride height.
Why This Spacer Kit Is Required
Roadmaster’s Slipper Spring Kits are engineered assuming the trailer has standard 3‑1/4" spring hangers.
If your trailer uses 2‑1/4" hangers (measured from the bottom of the frame to the center of the spring‑eye bolt):
If your trailer uses 2‑1/4" hangers (measured from the bottom of the frame to the center of the spring‑eye bolt):
- The middle axle, mounted to the slipper box, sits lower than the front and rear axles.
- This causes the load to shift unevenly across the axles.
- That imbalance leads to poor handling characteristics, premature tire wear, and increased suspension stress.
The 25475 Spacer Kit corrects this geometry by lowering the front and rear axles so that all three axles sit at matching heights and share the load evenly.
Application Requirements
This spacer kit is:
- ONLY for use when the trailer has 2‑1/4" spring hangers.
-
NOT recommended for any hanger height other than 2‑1/4".
Using this kit on taller or shorter hangers may cause improper axle alignment and excessive tire wear.
Design Features
Each spacer block is engineered to create a secure connection between the axle saddle and the slipper spring:
- Top indexing hole mates with the slipper spring nut.
-
Bottom locating stud fits the axle saddle for proper alignment.
This prevents shift and ensures consistent geometry.
Additional Benefit: Raises Trailer Height by ~1/2"
Beyond its primary triple‑axle alignment purpose, the 25475 Spacer Kit can also be used on any tandem‑axle leaf‑spring suspension to raise the trailer approximately 1/2".
This can help:
This can help:
- Improve tire‑to‑fender clearance
- Level the trailer to match tow‑vehicle height
